Odili Donald Odita - Give me shelter

INTERVIEWS

Odili Donald Odita is a Afro-American artist from Philadelphia. He is an abstract painter working primarly on large scale compositions, raising questions about race and society by the means of color.  In Venice he painted a grand abstract eight wall painting – Give me shelter - just at the entrance of the Padiglione Italia, where Robert Storr has curated the international exhibition of the Venice Biennale.

We met him during the opening week of the Biennale and we talked about Give me shelter and about feeling at home in painting.

The interview is in English.
