Carlos Basualdo is senior curator of Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art; he teaches a course on the History of Exhibition at the IUAV University in Venice, he was among the curators of the Venice Biennale in 2003 and of Documenta 11 in 2002.

Among the shows he curated, Tropicalia: A Revolution in Brazilian Culture has been touring around the world for many years. We met Basualdo in Faenza, Italy, where he is, together with Angela Vettese and Pier Luigi Sacco, in the scientific board of the Contemporary Art Festival.

We talked about the governance of museums, between research and market. The conversation is in Italian.
