Acquario di Casablanca / Commonspace (2016) is a collective and participatory reflection on the fate of abandoned spaces and on the role of citizens in their re-activation. The Casablanca Aquarium, a historic building in the city, has been closed since the 1980s. It is located between the Casablanca Fair and the Hassan 2 Mosque and is not accessible to the public.
Common Spaces ABC is an international artist laboratory, in which jordanian, moroccan and german artists have joined in order to develop common strategies of how to address participation in common resources of the city. Common Space is initiated by Matthaei & Konsorten (Berlin), in collaboration with 7iber & (Amman) and Atelier l`Observatoire (Casablanca).

Abdellah M. Hassak is a new media and sound artist, musician and producer, cultural manager and engineer. His sound work focuses on the use of digital technologies, computer coding for processing and sound interactivity.
He is interested in archives, cultural and artistic heritage. At the same time - Abdellah M. Hassak states - new technologies help to facilitate communication. By remixing tradition and connecting it to technologies he tries to create spaces of cultural exchanges and interconnections. His work is deeply involved with the city - its chaotic and anarchist sounds - a fecund place to contextualize his sound art in.
