Radiophony : Haunted air
A project by Julia Drouhin
Streaming on Radio Papesse next June 2nd 2013 at 4PM
Julia Drouhin's collective project Radiophony: Haunted Air invites eighteen artists from France, UK, Brazil, Argentina and Australia, to think about the aesthetic issues of creative airwaves as a ghosted space occupying radio waves. We usually ignore that space even if it’s all around us. How dead air can be a wireless vehicle for the human psyche? Listen to a space is not natural. We are used to see things, we can close our eyes, but we can’t close our ears. Permanently immerged into the sound of everything, our brain selects the noise. It’s interesting to learn how to listen: the inaudible becomes audible.
Radiophony: Haunted Air creates a gap between live and dead air and will stimulate the magic but often forgotten radiophonic space.
