Pepite 4 - Travelling from Spain to India

Season One

ARCHIVE

Some call it sound-art, new music, research sounds, acoustic experimentations or liminal sounds, we just call them Pepite, golden nuggets: tips on sound research, precious bits of our programming. Sounds we select and highlight from our freefrom streaming.

This week we are presenting four albums and projects, ranging from jazz improvisation to soundscape and radio documentaries.

Numbers Stations 1 and 2 (excerpt) by Michael Woody.
This is a set of files constructed to function like numbers stations. The codes have been substituted for brief messages telling what you should do and what you shouldn’t do if attacked by a bear. The work is a reflection on secrecy, control and power.

Chance by 1911.
Xavier Lopez and David Vilayleck have a common background in jazz and improvisation. They are projecting this modus operandi into their electroacoustic album Chance.

Atraque di Juanjo Palacios.
Soundartist Juanjo Palacios brings us to El Musel Harbour, in Gión, Northern Spain.

Cochin, a sound documentary by François-Emmanuel Fodéré
Cochin was the former name of Kichi, a city in India. Cochin is also the title of this soundwork by French artist Fodéré, released by Impulsive Habitat Netlabel.
