Pepite 19 - Tristeza Orange, Dylan Tinlun Chan, Adam Michalak & Fatima Miranda
Season One
Some call it sound-art, new music, research sounds, acoustic experimentations or liminal sounds, we just call them Pepite, golden nuggets: tips on sound research, precious bits of our programming. Each week we select few Pepite and highlight them into our free from streaming.
Following our homage to UbuWeb and its historical archive last week, we step back into the future, lending our ears to the most contemporary sound production.
Half-Mute Irene Power Lines by Tristeza Orange
Taken from Monochrome, Antonis Tsagaris’ last album released by Acustronica, an amalgamation of modern classical composition, jazzy exotica and screeching guitar feedback. However, the inspiration for the EP goes much further than that: film noir, stylized comic panels, Miro and David Lynch/Angelo Badalamenti all contributed to the frantic, alienating atmosphere of the record. In this world of darkness, the few bright spots will be greatly appreciated.
Git Lou by Dylan Tinlun Chan. He loves to improvise on the piano indeed.
Third Color by Adam Michalak
From Poland, Adam Michalack mixes old vinyls, keyboards, field recordings and electroacustic compositions and he gives a sound to an in-between space across reality and fantasy.
Hàlito
di Fatima Miranda, one of the major Spanish figure in experimental singing, always overly sensitive to the unusual resonances of architectural and urban spaces.
