È tutto sbagliato; tutto quello che è fuori dell'arte è tutto mercato, è una struttura politica terribile. [Carlos Garaicoa]

Cuban artist Carlos Garaicoa was visiting the 52nd Biennale di Venezia when we met him and we asked him some comments about what he calls ‘the monster’, the biennale. Together with curator Lorenzo Fusi – they have worked together in the past and they know each other very well – Carlos Garaicoa delve into the national pavilion-kind of structure, putting forward his provocative idea: to destroy everything, push the national boundries and build something completely anew.
