Some call it sound-art, new music, research sounds, acoustic experimentations or liminal sounds, we just call them Pepite, golden nuggets: tips on sound research, precious bits of our programming. Each week we select few Pepite and highlight them into our free from streaming.

Latin America! This week we lend our ears to the works of two sound artists coming from the same continent and working in the field of experimental and electroacoustic music, taking their care from electronic beats and field recordings...

Paradox
The Cat

By Sol Rezza.
These two soundworks are part of SPIT, the Argentinian artists' latest release published by Acustronica label.
If SPIT presents itself as an immersion of the sound artist into the natural environment, the album is everything but a soundscape: it establishes an unusual relationship with the natural world and through Sol Rezza's hearing, the field recordings are transformed in something completely different.

Paradox and The Cat are the opening and closing tracks of the album and are made from the sounds of a lawn mower, a dog barking, crickets, storms, from the sounds of lakes, piers and rivers in various locations. All of them modified through computer + virtual instruments with no MIDI connection.

Resplendor
By Rogelio Sosa.
Mexican artist Rogelio Sosa explores a wide range of aspects that deal with sound morphology, structures of auditory reference, intensification of the acoustic space and performativity. This track is part of his latest record RAUDALES released by Sub Rosa.
