BIO || Viola Mondello‘s aesthetic deals with issues of traces, fragments and the impossibility of recovering historical meaning. In her work, Viola seeks to learn from forgotten places and ideas. Ruins become a transmitter of the past, they serve as ideological catalyists, to create new meanings. The acoustic of ruins is a new type of space, the past intermingling with the present, revealing nothing about their identity but subtly altering and transforming our present environment.
